Geotechnical Testing

Beginning late August through the remainder of 2022

Permits for geotechnical testing operations and trail clearing have been obtained from the Department of Planning and Permitting. We will utilizing heavy equipment to work our way through the trail and utilize the fell trees as part of our required erosion control and mitigation plan. There may be areas where the trail will widen, particularly in and around the areas where the actually drilling will take place. The timeframe associated with this work will begin in late August and will continue through the end of the year (2022).

Please continue to monitor HMPfacts.com “Construction Updates” for additional information.

Information on the website will include: the stages of construction, cultural aspects of the project, protected habitats and species, items of historical significance pertaining to Hawaiian Memorial Park, and other relevant information. Our goal is to keep you fully informed of Hawaiian Memorial Park’s progress throughout the improvements.

Hawaiian Memorial Park and its employees have served these islands since 1958. We are honored and humbled to be an integral part of this community as a place where we can come together to pay our respects and cherish those who came before us. This project allows us to continue providing that same standard of excellence and care Hawai‘i has come to know and trust moving forward, while also recognizing the original stewards of the land by working with Native Hawaiian groups to protect important Native Hawaiian cultural practices and historic resources.
